Hi, I’m Taylor N. B. Walding. I’m a wife, mother, occasional Sunday School teacher, and student of God’s Word. I enjoy sipping tea with friends and family while discussing all things pertaining to life and godliness.
Why I do what I do
In the church at large, women are often reduced to one of three things. We are seen as either A. eternally insecure and in need of constant affirmation that we are in fact beautiful (as if that’s the message we need most *eye roll*) or B. spiritual gatekeepers for the sin of the men around us, whether boyfriends/husbands/brothers/etc. or C. spiritually second-class and therefore incapable of learning rich, robust theology or teaching the Scriptures in a serious capacity.
Friends, this isn’t what God wants for women. Our greatest need in the gospel of Jesus Christ, not a self-image pep talk. Throughout Scripture, we see women praying (1 Samuel 1:9-10; Acts 1:14), prophesying (Judges 4:4-5; Acts 21:9), and teaching (Acts 18:26; Titus 2:3-5).
In Christ, there is to be no distinction between male and female (Galatians 3:28). We are co-heirs of the grace of life (1 Peter 3:7). Join me as I seek to equip you with Scripture to be the woman of God He’s calling you to be.
Personal Background
I was born in 1997 with a seemingly incurable bent toward sin. By His sovereign grace and mercy, the LORD gave me a new heart at 14 years of age. His desire to redeem and restore a broken sinner like me is a testimony to His lovingkindness.
My husband Trey and I met and began dating at Troy University in 2016. It’s a long and lovely story of God’s providence, refinement, and attention to detail in answering prayer. We married 15 months after our first date in December 2017.
Our son Frank was born in October 2020 - an immeasurable blessing and joy during the darkest valley of my life. He keeps us laughing and thanking God for every gift.
Ever since the LORD saved me, I have had a passion for studying His Word and sharing what I learn. As I’ve journeyed into marriage and motherhood, I’ve seen the need for doctrinally sound truth to equip us during these difficult but oh so rewarding years.
That’s what I hope this blog will be to you - a source of encouragement to know God more intimately and be equipped for the tasks at hand.
